Ute Fiedler

As an adult educator, Ute has 20 years’ experience teaching diverse groups in different settings including “Management in a Multicultural Environment” to MBA students at the National University in Mexico, “Workplace Communications” to students at the Nova Scotia’s Community College, and Diversity and Inclusion related subjects to professionals from private and public sectors, NGOs, and post-secondary institutions. As a certified administrator of the Intercultural Development InventoryTM (IDI), Ute has assessed and coached 300+ international students from 35 countries in intercultural competency development and facilitated their cultural integration into the Canadian workplace.

Long ago, when her high school teacher told her parents that Ute would never be able to speak a foreign language, she knew that mastering challenges is what motivates her. Today, she uses her own stories to facilitate content as well as a growth mindset for lifelong learning. Her stories originate from working/living/traveling in 45 countries, and she tells them in 3 languages (German, English, Spanish).

Ute is the German-born, Canadian citizen with a Mexican heart, and she is dedicated to walking her talk in building bridges across cultures to foster the cultural integration of newcomers to Atlantic Canada.

Ute holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Heidelberg University in Germany, a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Dalhousie University, and a Master in Education (Lifelong Learning) from Mount Saint Vincent University.
